Chart 1: Amount of time it takes to achieve Active Range of Motion, 110 degrees, with the CPM and the GAP-FLEX. This is important because once Active Range of Motion is achieved, patients can then begin strength training in their therapy. Achieving a faster AROM helps decrease muscle atrophy, and promote faster recovery.
Chart 2: This shows the amount of time spent on each device during a 28 day time period if going by each device’s protocol. Source: “Gravity Assisted Passive Flexion (GAP-Flex) in TKA Recovery” by Jesse C DeLee, M.D. & Bryan W Kaiser, MD of the University of Texas Health San Antonio
